The fine print

- Still connected to the grid. You are still connected to the utility grid and would be expected to pay a small fixed monthly rate, considered the standard connection fee.
- Ameren Illinois rates are moving. Ameren Illinois supply rates rose again on June 1, 2026, going from 8.769 cents a kWh to about 11.3 cents a kWh for the summer season. The all in average for 2026 sits near 15.5 cents a kWh, up sharply from roughly 8 cents in 2021. The drivers include Illinois Commerce Commission approved increases and record regional capacity auction prices. Past increases do not guarantee future ones.
